IMO: Please Delete Yourself
So I lurk on a lot of different gaming forums, I read, I peruse, I skim. I rarely post myself, not sure why but I only post on a select few while I read far more. Anyways; in my perusing of these gaming forums I have started to notice a trend that’s really ticking me off. Posts about whether or not a game was worth the money spent purchasing it are popping up everywhere.
“[Insert Game] game was a waste of my money.”
“What Games of 2012 did you waste money on?”
Even worse are the posts in these forums threads. Posts about how much play time they got out of a game and if that was worth their money.
“I only played this game for 2 months and now I don’t log on as much, such a waste of money.”
Or my absolute favorite; “I only got 100 hours of game play out of [Insert Game], this was such a waste of my $60″
Are you f**king kidding me!? Really bro? I mean really? I don’t even…..You know what; No. I’m not even going to try. I’m not going to go into some long-winded rant about this. Instead I am just going to make it short and sweet. I’ll post three lines below. Three. They will say everything.
In late 2001 I bought a game you may have heard of; Halo: Combat Evolved. I spent $60 on this thing brand new. I beat it less than 2 weeks later. Was that a waste of money?
In 1993 for the first time I bought a game by myself, for myself, with my money. I bought The Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES. It cost me $50. I beat it a week later. Was it such a huge letdown and waste of my money?
In 1990 my mother bought me a game called Super Mario Bros, the original, for the NES. She paid $45 for the game brand new(a few years after initial release). I beat the game the very next day. Should my mother have been outraged; demanded her money back, and called it was such a waste?
If you don’t understand what I posted above and why I would ask you to delete all record of your existence from the internet and every other social medium out there. And also go find some vast uninhabited wilderness and live there as a hermit, alone…..please
.
IMO is In My Opinion, where I post my opinion on whatever I feel like having an opinion on. Don’t forget to comment below so you can berate me for how wrong and stupid I am. Also; feel free to accept that I don’t give a damn.

All I can offer as input on this subject is a way around a possible let-down, followed by a rage post. I don’t always play console games, but when I do, I always rent them and test them before I spend my hard-earned money to buy them. The great thing about playing PC-based MMO’s is most of them have a free trial period that will let you get a feel for it before you commit your cash. I was hooked on Eve Online from day one, so I don’t mind spending my money on it…although with Eve Online you can play for free when you’ve established your character.
